Tests...

Do you remember in school when you’re sitting in English and Math classes wondering when the heck you’re going to have to remember what synonyms are, that the perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l+w), and “if it takes Joey 16 minutes to read one page, how much time will it take him to read 6 ¼ pages?”
They seemed easy enough in school when I was working that stuff every day, but now that it’s been five years I feel like a Freshmen all over again. This past week I’ve been studying for the dreaded ASVAB test. That thing is a monster rearing it’s ugly head my way again. I took it when I was 16 years old; I hated it then and I hate it just as much now!
It’s one of those necessary evils that I have to check off my list of things to do though so I can put in a packet to become a Warrant Officer. It’s actually one of the last things I need to do. Once my packets in I just have to wait for the approval stamp and then find a position in the State to become a Warrant Officer. Wish me luck!!!

Birthday in Afghanistan

Here are some pics from my birthday. It wasn't too exciting, just another day really but fellow co-workers did get me some pizza and we played Rock Band. It was a nice gesture from them to remember me. Next year should be better though because I'll be home with the family!

Our Family

Well, I'm new to this blogging stuff so you'll have to bear with Curt and I as we figure things out and change our page up. I wanted to start off this blogging by talking about my family! Curt and I are going to be getting married in May 2009, once I get home from Afghanistan. He has two wonderful children; Coty and Kalea.
Coty is a Junior in High School and being a typical teenager; hang out with friends and ride his bike. Kalea is in 5th grade, she in to riding horses and she is super smart in school!
Curt is currently working full time in the Army with the Engineers as a Readiness NCO. Hopefully we will see a promotion for him to MSG (Master Sergeant) soon, we'll keep you posted.
Right now I'm in Bagram, Afghanistan serving our country. I have about 3-4 months left until I get to come home! After being here I am so much more greatful for everything I have back at home. Right now my plan is to go back to my full time job in the Army with the Military Intelligence as an Administrative Personnel.
We can't forget about our cat Peppers. She is spoiled and she knows it and takes advantage of it. It's a good things we love her! We are all just biding our time waiting for me to get home. We love to travel and try new things. Well, in a nut shell, this is the family!
